Hail to the gun by Daystar-Art Hail to the gun by Daystar-Art
Dedicated to Roland Deschain, the main character in Stephen King's marvelous series "The Dark Tower".
You know, I've read a lot of books, but Roland is one of the very few characters I think of as of a living person. I believe people who have read the novels will understand me. And every now and then, when I'm stuck at something, when I see no way out or just like that, without reason, I hear a voice inside, calling "Comala-come" and I know the Gunslinger lives in me and in every other person who knows him.

I do not aim with my hand;
He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.

I do not shoot with my hand;
He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.

I do not kill with my gun;
He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart.

Not to nitpick, but the lack of Can'-Ka No Rey in the picture makes it feel a bit disconnected from the Dark Tower series, in my opinion.

Other than that, it looks good.

I know. I couldn't find a rose field, so I decided to put a single rose on a deserted ground, like a symbol.. Thanks :)

I just love it, bot the artwork and the Dark Tower series. I am a huge Stephen King fan (or, better said, a Constant Reader) and I really think the Tower is hist best work by far. As you say, Roland feels so real, so alive, that it's hard to not be seduced (and sometimes also terrified) by him.

I like him even more when he terrifies me, though I have no explanation for this :XD: Hail to the Gunslinger!

I love the concept and I am a huge fan of S king's work. I would suggest outlining the tower with the pen tool to get rid of that extra sky from the stock image. I would also suggest using a brush with a low hardness to get rid of the rest of the stock image over laying the desert hard pan. I think that doing this will give the piece a more realistic feel, if not just place the focus more on the tower rather than the ground in front of it.
