Unexpected things happen more often than we even think. I just finished an artwork I had no inspiration with, I didn't know where I was going with it and didn't know how to name it until the last moment. It's in my gallery, if anyone's interested :)

I've been reading a lot of Neil Gaiman's stuff lately. Stardust is as sweet as ever, even better with the original text (God I hate translations!), and I plan on exploring the original of American Gods as well. But Fragile Things got me thinking about many many things. Love and ghosts and fantasy and, damn, Gaiman is more crazy than Stephen King and Edgar Poe combined!

Reading another short story book right now, "Smoke and Mirrors". Damn it.

And, I've been thinking a lot about what's happening in Ukraine right now. I like Ukrainians and I've always thought I might go see Kiyv someday, so the whole thing makes me sad and very angry at the same time.
There were times when I would've followed an idea: a religion, a philosophy, a political concept. Now I wouldn't give my heart into something like that, even if my heart was my own to give. I understand, though, that ideas are important to many people, but whatever the idea and whatever its rightness, it can't justify violence, it can't justify destruction or civil war, it can't justify death. That's where I disagree with V. And you know what, such films and books always identify revolutions and rebellions with glory, and they're wrong - no matter their reason or how they start, all proper revolutions are written in red.

I'm in no mood to comment and discuss the whole thing, just sharing my thoughts on the matter. If you want to ask me something, ask away, but I won't argue with you. An opinion is just like an asshole, you know, everyone has a different one.

D.

I've seen Stardust an enjoyed it (still haven't been able to track down the graphic novel yet, dammit) and a couple of Dr. Who episodes Gaiman wrote. He also wrote a Batman story, "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader" that was really mind blowing. He's pretty deep reading. :-)
